We’re looking forward to celebrating Canadian Breastfeeding Week from October 1st to 7th!
This year’s CBW theme, as chosen by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA), is Breastfeeding: Foundation of Life. We are celebrating with a nature hike at Crawford Lake!
Halton BFI invites families to join us for a guided nature hike at Crawford Lake Conservation Area. Entrance to the park is free for the day, so you are welcome to explore the rest of the park after the event. This event is sponsored by Halton BFI, Halton Environmental Network (HEN), Jennifer Bourikas of Century 21 Dreams Inc., Brokerage and Olinah Metals Inc.
We encourage participants to wear their baby in a carrier if possible. The hike is stroller-accessible but it may be easier using a baby carrier. There will be short and long versions of the hike, so you can hike 1.5 kms (about 30 mins) or 3 kms (about 1 hour), depending on your interest. The first part of the hike is the Crawford Lake Trail hike, which is mostly along a board walk around the lake.
After the hike, we will meet back for some light snacks and awesome door prizes like barefoot babies gift cards and Conservation Halton Parks day passes!
Please note: TICKETS (mobile or printed) ARE REQUIRED IN ORDER TO OBTAIN FREE ENTRY INTO CRAWFORD LAKE.
